RAWLINGS WEEK 12 NCBA DII TOP 20 POLL

Could it have been any closer? While 3 teams in total received 1st place votes,  only 2 of them accounted for 14 of the 15 possible as each received 7. When it was all said & done only 1 point separated the top 2 teams!

The Ohio State University officially snags the #1 spot as they received 287 of the possible 300 points. After dropping a conference game this past weekend, Pittsburg State slides down to #2 this week.

Georgia Southern enters the Top 20 after a 3-0 start to their conference season, while idle Wisconsin is bumped while they wait to being their spring season.

After splitting 2 games with Colorado State (who’s ranked #12 in the latest NCBA DI rankings),  Colorado State- Pueblo jumped to the #21 spot as they received 37 points, which is 37 more points than they received in the previous rankings.

Rocky Lone Star Region – 2019 Team Previews

Day 8 of 8 brings us to the Rocky Lone Star Region. Metro State returns after a stellar 2018 campaign.  After going 11-0 within conference play they earned the #2 seed at the Regional Playoff where they ultimately took home the title. Entering the World Series as the #2 seed Metro was upset in their 1st round game & unfortunately could never recover. They were eliminated after going 1-2. With only 6 returning players on the roster do they have enough to get back to Kansas?

New Penn Region – 2019 Team Previews

Day 5 of 8 brings us to the New Penn Region.  In 2018 Cal (PA) entered the World Series as the #1 seed after going a perfect 15-0 in conference play & 21-0 overall, which included 3 straight wins at the Regional Playoff.   At the World Series they won their 1st round game though ultimately dropped the next two resulting in them being eliminated from the event. While 2018 was a fantastic year for the Vulcans, you can bet they have bigger goals in 2019.
Heading into the Spring season Cal (5-2) joins Bloomsburg (6-0) & Buffalo (6-0) atop their respective conferences.

New England Region – 2019 Team Previews

Day 4 of 8 brings us to the New England Region.  In just their 2nd year in the league, Siena College went on a run for the ages. After clinching their conference title it was onto the Regional Playoff in Rochester, NY.  In the 2nd round they were run ruled & sent to the losers bracket but fought back & found themselves on Championship Sunday needing to win BOTH games over the same opponent who beat them the day prior. Through blizzard like conditions they found a way to overcome 8 run deficits in both games & ultimately punched their ticket to the World Series.
