DIVISION II TEAM PREVIEWS | DAY 8 OF 8
⚾️ ROCKY MOUNTAIN REGION
Last but not least, we’ve hit the Rocky Mountain. After a 2025 run by the #4 seed Montana, they look to repeat as champions and head back to Alton. With them returning 15 players, they might have another postseason run in them. The Rocky Mountain has consistently produced a new winner each of the last four seasons and with the #1 and #2 seed falling short last year, both CSU-Pueblo and Idaho look for their first World Series DII appearance.
The South features 5 clubs with a couple of them that have already started season play in the fall. Denver (3-0) currently sits atop of the standings having only played three games. But with a sweep over South Dakota Mines, they are receiving some buzz in the DII Preseason Ballot. CSU-Pueblo looks to defend their Rocky Mountain-South title having made the regionals the last 3 of 4 seasons. They as well having been receiving some votes.
In the North, Montana and Idaho (2-0) both made regionals last year. So far, Montana got off to a slow start in the fall but still has four conference series upcoming this spring to make a playoff push and return to the regionals. Idaho, looks to defend their Rocky Mountain-North title as their series against Montana in mid-April will be an exciting one to be on the lookout for.
Does Montana have it in them to repeat as Rocky Mountain champs?
