Austin Ridgway was born in Portsmouth, Virginia, but was primarily raised in Crown Point, Indiana, and currently resides in Bloomington, Indiana. He attended Crown Point High School, where he was a two-sport athlete, competing in both football and baseball. Excelling in baseball, he began his college career at Purdue University for a year and a half before transferring to Indiana University.
At Indiana University, Austin joined the club baseball team during his first semester and became an integral part of several talented rosters. He helped lead the Division I program to its first regional bid in ten years. After three seasons with the club, Austin emerged as a respected leader and was named one of the team’s on-field captains.
Austin is on track to graduate in the spring of 2026 from Indiana University with a Bachelor’s degree in Sport Marketing and Management. He also volunteered with the NCBA during the2025 Division I and Division II World Series held in Alton, Illinois.
Reflecting on his experience, Austin says:
“Club baseball is the best decision I’ve ever made as a college student. The people you meet become lifelong friends, and you still get the chance to compete every week—traveling to schools you’d never otherwise visit and playing on fields you never thought you’d set foot on. For that, I’ll always be grateful for club baseball and the NCBA.”
In his free time, Austin enjoys playing with his dog, spending time with friends, enjoying a cold one, and cheering on the Washington Commanders and Chicago White Sox.
