STS Week 4 Recap

The 2014 Spring Training Showcase officially came to an end as the final eight teams joined us for Week 4 of the event. Check out the recap for all of the details!

LSU/Spring Hill Update

The 3 game series between LSU and Spring Hill this past weekend was not played due to the home team being unable to secure a field. The issue is under review with the league.

HCC and UHD Play 1 After Poor Field Conditions

Houston Community College earned a soliud home victory in a close 1-run game over UH-Downtown. The series was originally slated for 3 games, but 2 were postponed to later in the season due to poor field conditions.

SFA Takes 2 of 3 From LSC D2

Stephen F Austin kept pace in the race for the District VII West lead by taking 2 out of 3 from LSC (D2). The Lumberjacks were aided by 2 homeruns from Stephen Lopez who was 4-8 on the weekend. For Lone Star, Kai Weaver was key at the plate while Brennan Schulze impressed in his first start of the season on the mound.

TAMU Corps Sweeps TCU

The Corps were in top form this past weekend. They used excellent performances on the mound by Will Pace and Reed Ryan who both pitched complete game shutouts to propel them to victory. Garret Scoggins was key at the plate for the Corps who now find themselves atop District VII West.

DISCIPLINARY ACTION

Eastern Michigan University has been placed on probation for violating NCBA rule 6.02.2.

TAMU Corps Takes 2 of 3 from HCC

The TAMU Corps of Cadets dropped the opening game to HCC this past weekend, but showed some resolve by rebounding for back-to-back wins to capture the series win.

TCU Earns Sweep With Wild Sunday Win

TCU earned a sweep over LSC (D2) this past weekend thanks to a sensational outing from Tom Elias on the mound. The Horned Frogs capped the series with their 3rd win of the weekend in a wild slugfest which featured 33 runs. Will Jennings was the offensive key for the Horned Frogs. In 3 games, he went 4-8 with a 2B, two 3B, 3 RBI, 3 runs, 2 SB, and 4 BB.

#10 SFA Sweeps UHD

The Lumberjacks continued their winning ways with a 3 game sweep over UHD. Chandler Hamilton delivered at the plate for SFA, while Sklyer Mathis and Kyle Allen gave great outings on the mound.
